Kim Hatch – Family Law Attorney
Kim Hatch is a compassionate and empathetic family law attorney whose expertise and skilled advocacy have guided countless families through some of the most challenging times of their lives. Having experienced divorce herself, Kim brings a personal understanding to her practice, allowing her to connect with clients on a deeper level. She recognizes that every case is unique and tailors her approach to meet each client’s specific needs.
As a family law attorney, Kim is dedicated to protecting her clients’ interests and achieving solutions that are both practical and enduring for the entire family. She represents clients in matters including divorce, legal separation, paternity, child custody, modifications, child support, and relocation issues. In addition, Kim serves regularly as a Guardian Ad Litem, advocating for the best interests of minor children in cases involving divorce, custody, relocation, or allegations of abuse or neglect.
Kim also specializes in divorce mediation and collaborative divorce, helping families explore resolution options that may not be available in traditional litigation. These approaches often provide more cost-effective solutions and longer-lasting outcomes. She serves as Co-President of Collaborative Practice Kansas City, a network of divorce attorneys, financial professionals, and mental health experts dedicated to guiding families through all aspects of divorce outside the courtroom. With extensive experience in the collaborative divorce model, Kim ensures that clients receive comprehensive support throughout the process.
A lifelong Kansas City resident, Kim earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri Kansas City School of Law, where she participated in the Child and Family Services Clinic. Since then, she has practiced exclusively in family law and is licensed to practice in both Missouri and Kansas. She is actively involved in the legal community, including the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City, the Johnson County Bar Association, the Platte County Bar Association, and serves on the Executive Committee for the Johnson County Family Law Inn of Court.
Outside of the office, Kim enjoys attending local sporting events with friends and family. She is a devoted wife and mother who stays busy with her kids’ many activities and loves spending time with her granddaughter whenever she gets the chance
